Ballantine’s History.
In 1827 George Ballantine opened a grocery business in Edinburgh.
By 1869 the family business had expanded to both Glasgow and Edinburgh and George Ballantine had established himself as a blender of Scotch whisky.
George Ballantine passes away at the age of 83 in 1891.
Queen Victoria awards George Ballantine & Son their first Royal Warrant in 1895.
Ballantine’s Finest Scotch Whisky is introduced in 1910.
